Tuesday Tool Time: Find Images by Color

Strange Green Insect on Profound.com

I just heard about an unusual royalty-free photo site that lets you search for images based on color.

Unprofound.com is not fancy and doesn’t give much verbal information about how to use their site.

But their FAQ page assures viewers that these photos can be used for pretty much any use – other than selling them directly.  If you think your project might be an exception to all the examples, you can always submit a question to confirm that your situation is acceptable.

What I love most about this site is the nature or style of the images.  These are not high-production stock photos.  Instead they are everyday photos of everyday objects but seen from a creative and often quirky perspective.

Search the images in 2 different ways:

  • by color, using the 7 color theme buttons at the top of the page
  • by topic/keyword, using the search field in the upper right corner

Creative & quirky perspective!

You don’t even need to create an account.  Simply right-click and download the photo of your choice!

Use your creative perspective to include some of these unusual photos in your next project and share it!

Let me know which ones you like.  I’d love to hear what you think of this site.
